Researchers who often do experiments know that organic synthesis is a process of preparing more complex target molecules from simple raw materials through one or more chemical reactions. [0196] To a solution of 2,3-dichloro-4-iodopyridine (1.2 g, 4.4 mmol) and 3,4-dihydro- 2H-pyrimido[1,2-cjquinazolin-1O-ol (0.8 g, 4.0 mmol) in DMF (30 mL) was added Cs2CO3 (14.7 g, 5.0 mmol). The reaction mixture was degassed with N2 and stirred at 60 C for 3 hours. The resulting mixture was evaporated and the residue was purified by column chromatography on silica gel (DCM/MeOH from 100:1 to 30:1, v/v) to afford 10-((2,3- dichloropyridin-4-yl)oxy)-3 ,4-dihydro-2H-pyrimido [1 ,2-cj quinazoline (0.6 g, 44% yield) as a white solid.
