The residue was purified by flash chromatography (40 g SiO2, gradient elution with 0-80% EtOAc in heptane to yield the title compound (0.44 g, quantitative yield): 1H NMR (500 MHz, CDCl3) delta ppm 1.35 (s, 12H), 2.65 (s, 3H), 7.95-8.03 (m, 1H), 8.69 (d, 1H); MS (ES+) m/z 172 [M+H]+(mass corresponding to the boronic acid).
