The organic layer was dried (MgS04) and concentrated in vacuo to give 3-bromo-6-chloro-pyridine-2-carboxylic acid N-oxide as a yellow oil.Characterising data for the compound are as follows: NMR (400 MHz, CD3OD) delta ppm 7.77-7.75 (m, 2H) and 4.01 (s, 3H).
