To a solution of 4-chloro-3-methyl-lH-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine (1.1 g, 6.6 mmol) in Nu,Nu’- dimethylformamide (20 mL) was added NaH (166 mg, 6.93 mmol) at 0 C.
