The organic layers were concentrated to afford 3.7 g of 5-bromo- 2,3-dihydro- 1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine (2) after purification by flash chromatography using dichloromethane as eluent (35% yield). 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-D6) delta ppm 2.98 ( t, J = 8.54 Hz, 2H ) 3.48 (t, J=8.55 Hz, 2H) 6.58 (bs, 1 H) 7.37(s,1 H) 7.71 (s,1 H)
