A new synthetic route of Pyridin-4-ol

As we all know, there are many different methods for the synthesis of a compound, and people can choose the synthesis method that suits their own laboratory according to the actual situation. 626-64-2, name is Pyridin-4-ol, molecular formula is C5H5NO, The compound is widely used in many fields, so it is necessary to find a new synthetic route. 4-Hydroxypyridine 1.88g (0.02 mol) and 4,6-dimethoxypyrimidine-2-yl methyl sulfone 4.36g (0.02 mol) were dissolved in DMF 100 ml, and K2CO3 3.3g (1.2 eq) was added thereto. Then, the temperature was maintained at 95C while the mixture was stirred over night. The reacted solution was added to water 100 ml, extracted with diethyl ether, dried with MgSO4, and distilled under reduced pressure to obtain residue. Through purification with silica gel column chromatography, a solid material 3.73g (80%) was obtained: 1H NMR (CDCl3); 3.73 (s, 6H), 5.49 (s, 1H), 6.85-8.42 (m, 4H).
