The authors of the above paper came recently to the inference that the apparent (down to infinite dilution) molar volumes of methanol in water and aqueous sulfonamides are neg. in sign and unusually large in magnitude. In this regard, two main points relating to the given “phenomenon” were considered here: how plausible is it and what exptl. “features” did the authors apply to achieve such a result. Based on the recalculated authors data and reliable literature data of interest, it is concluded here on the scientific absurdity of results reported in the paper being commented. The main reasons for this could be the sloppy performing exptl. procedures as well as the incorrect using well-known thermodn. relations by the authors (Bahadur et al.). To complete the study, the researchers used 4-Amino-N-(6-chloropyridazin-3-yl)benzenesulfonamide (cas: 80-32-0) .
