MS(ESI) m/z: 262.1 (M+H) . To the solid was added EtOH (1 mL) and 4 N HCl in dioxane (4 mL) and the reaction mixture was stirred for 2 h at rt. The mixture was concentrated to dryness to the desired product. MS(ESI) m/z: 162.1 (M+H)+.

After this time, more palldium tetrakis triphenylphosphine (4.01g, 3.47mmol) was added and heated to 100C for 90 minutes. The mixture was allowed to cool to room temperature and treated with water (200 mL) and ether (400 mL). The resulting mixture was filtered to remove insoluble solids, the filtrate was partitioned, and the aqueous layer was extracted with ether (400 mL). The combined ether extracts were washed with water (200 mL), dried (MgSO4), filtered, and the solvent removed in vacuo. This residue was purified by chromatography using silica gel column (330 g) eluting with a gradient of 10-100% CH2CI2 in hexanes to provide the title compound. lH NMR (CDCI3) delta=8.45 (d, IH, J=5Hz) and 7.65 (dd, IH, J=5Hz) ppm.

Step-1: Preparation of tert-butyl (4-chloro-3-fluoropyridin-2-yl)carbamate To a solution of 2-bromo-4-chloro-3-fluoropyridine (825mg, 3.92mmol) in 1-4 Dioxane in a sealed tube (10ml) tert-butyl carbamate (505mg, 4.32mmol) and caesium carbonate (2.30g, 7.85mmol) and Pd(dba) (3350mg, 0.392mmol) and xanthphos (230mg, 0.392mmol) were added under argon and the reaction mixture was stirred at lOO C for 4h. The compound was extracted with ethyl acetate, dried over Na2S04 and concentrated to get crude compound which was purified by column chromatography using 20% EtOAC in hexane to obtain the title compound (450mg, 46.5%). LCMS: 63.4%, m/z = 247.0 (M+1)
