After 40 minutes, further 2-chloro-9-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-yl)-7-{[2-(trimethylsilyl)ethoxy]methyl}-7,9-dihydro-8H-purin-8-one (0.060 g, 0.16 mmol) and tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(0) (0.020 g, 0.017 mmol) were added and heating was continued for 90 minutes. The reaction mixture was evaporated and then was partitioned between ethyl acetate and water and the organic layer was dried (MgSO4) and concentrated. The residue was purified by flash chromatography (3:1 to 2:1 hexanes/ethyl acetate) to give the title compound (0.096 g, 50%) as pale yellow solid.
