The oxidation product shows an intense blue fluorescence that is monitored at excitation wavelength = 350 nm, emission wavelength = 427 nm. The sampling rate (72/h), relative standard deviation (1.4%), and the lack of interference from most foreign ions allowed application of the method to the determination of Cu in foods and blood serum.
