After stirring for two hours, the reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo and purified using silica gel chromatography (0-20% EtOAc/MeOH as the gradient eluent) to yield the title compound (15.4 mg, 52.8% yield). ?H NIVIR (CD3OD) 8.39-8.41(d, 1H), 8.28-8.30 (m, 2H), 8.25-8.27 (d, 1H), 7.71-7.77 (m, 2H), 7.25-7.27 (d, 1H), 6.73-6.76 (d, 1H), 4.86-4.95(br.m, 1H), 4.66-4.75 (br.m, 1H), 4.18-4.29 (br.m, 1H), 3.60-3.77 (m, 3H), 2.91-2.99 (m, 1H), 1.73-1.79 (d, 1H), 1.32 (s, 6H). Water was added to the reaction solution, followed by extraction with ethyl acetate. The resultant was washed with saturated saline and dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate. Subsequently, the solvent was distilled away under reduced pressure, the obtained residue was purified by silica gel chromatography (n-hexane : ethyl acetate = 10:1 to 3:1), and colorless oily matter of tert-butyl(5-fluoro-6-methoxypyridin-3-yl)carbamate (279 mg) was thus obtained. MS (ESI m/z): 243 (M+H) RT (min): 1.46

After the mixture was stirred for Ih at the same temperature, to it ice-water was added, and the resulting mixture was extracted with ether, and the combined organic layers were washed with brine, dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated under vacuum to afford 5.5 g of (5-fluoro-6-methoxypyridin-3-yl)carbonyl isobutyl carbonate as a yellow oil (98%). 1H-NMR (400MHz, CDCl3) delta 8.65 (d, J= 2Hz, IH, Ar-H), 7.90 (dd, J1 = 10 Hz, J2= 2 Hz, IH, Ar-H), 4.11 (s, 3H, -OCH3), 3.73(m, 2H, -OCH2), 2.09 (m, IH, – CH), 0.98 (m, 6H, -CH3)
