Researchers who often do experiments know that organic synthesis is a process of preparing more complex target molecules from simple raw materials through one or more chemical reactions. Generally, it requires fewer steps,and cheap raw materials. 381247-99-0, name is Methyl 5-bromo-6-hydroxynicotinate. Methyl 5-bromo-6-oxo- 1 ,6-dthydropyridine-3-carboxylate (3.0 g, 1.0 eq) and potassium carbonate (3.6 g, 2.0 eq) were dissolved in N,N-dimethylformamide, and dropwisely added with iodomethane (1.5 eq) at room temperature. The reaction mixture was stirred at 35C for 3 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, the resultant was diluted with ethyl acetate, washed with water, dried with magnesium sulfate and filtered, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The resulting residue was dissolved in dichloromethane and crystallized with hexane to obtain a title compound (2.5 g, yield 79%).
