Researchers who often do experiments know that organic synthesis is a process of preparing more complex target molecules from simple raw materials through one or more chemical reactions. Generally, it requires fewer steps,and cheap raw materials. 67643-17-8, name is 2,4-Dihydroxy-6-methylnicotinonitrile. B11a (10 g, 66.6 mmol) was added to a stirred solution of DMF (1 mL) in POCl3 (100 mL),and the mixture was heated to 70 oC for 3 h. The solvent POCl3 was removed via vacuumdistillation at 52 oC. The residue was dissolved in ethyl acetate, and the pH was adjustedto pH 7 using saturated sodium carbonate solution. The reaction mixture was filteredthrough a pad of celite, and the filtrate was extracted with ethyl acetate (40 mL¡Á3), andthen washed with water and brine. The organic solution was dried with anhydrousmagnesium sulfate and evaporated under reduced pressure to afford a brown solid (10 g,79%).
