The filtrate was diluted with EtOAc (250 mL) and washed with brine (200 mL), then dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered and evaporated in vacuo. The crude material was purified by flash column chromatography (Si02, 0-50% EtOAc in heptane) to afford the title compound (22.0 g, 94%) as a pale yellow solid. 5H (500 MHz, CDCls) 8.88 (s, 1H), 8.33 (d, J5.8 Hz, 1H), 6.88 (d, J 5.8 Hz, 1H), 3.96 (s, 3H), 1.29 (s, 9H).
