The combined organic layers were washed with brine (50 mL), dried over Na2S04, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure. The crude product was purified by flash column chromatography (Mobile phase: ethyl acetate in petroleum ether) to afford N-(4-(2-methylquinolin-6- yl)pyridin-2-yl)acetamide (1.7 g, 6.13 mmol, 66% yield). LCMS (ESI) m/e 278.2[(M+H)+, calcd for Ci7Hi6N30, 278.1]; LC/MS retention time (method E): tR = 1.68 min.
