The solvent was removed, the residue was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel eluting with EtOAc/petroleum ether (1%-20%) to give 5 as light yellow liquid (4.97 g, 86%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) delta 8.06 (s, ArH, 1H), 7.92 (dd, J = 1.2, ArH, 4.4 Hz, 1H), 7.88 (d, J = 7.6 Hz, ArH, 1H), 7.72 (d, J = 7.6 Hz, ArH, 1H), 7.54 (t, J = 7.8 Hz, ArH, 1H), 7.45 (dd, J = 1.2, 8.0 Hz, ArH, 1H), 7.29 (dd, J = 4.8, 8.0 Hz, ArH, 1H), 5.84 (q, J = 6.4 Hz, CH, 1H), 3.86 (s, OCH3, 3H), 1.62 (d, J = 6.4 Hz, CH3, 3H). ESI-MS m/z: 336.6 and 338.5 [M+H]+.
