Researchers who often do experiments know that organic synthesis is a process of preparing more complex target molecules from simple raw materials through one or more chemical reactions. Step-1: Preparation of tert-butyl (4-chloro-3-fluoropyridin-2-yl)carbamate To a solution of 2-bromo-4-chloro-3-fluoropyridine (825mg, 3.92mmol) in 1-4 Dioxane in a sealed tube (10ml) tert-butyl carbamate (505mg, 4.32mmol) and caesium carbonate (2.30g, 7.85mmol) and Pd(dba) (3350mg, 0.392mmol) and xanthphos (230mg, 0.392mmol) were added under argon and the reaction mixture was stirred at lOO C for 4h. The compound was extracted with ethyl acetate, dried over Na2S04 and concentrated to get crude compound which was purified by column chromatography using 20% EtOAC in hexane to obtain the title compound (450mg, 46.5%). LCMS: 63.4%, m/z = 247.0 (M+1)
