The reaction mixture is filtered and washed with acetonitrile. The filtrate is evaporated and partitioned between tert-butyl methyl ether and water. The organic phase is dried over sodium sulfate and evaporated. The residue is chromatographed on a silica-gel column with petroleum ether/ethyl acetate as eluent: 2-(6-bromopyridin-2-ylmethyl)-6-(3,5-difluorophenyl)-2H-pyridazin-3-one as yellow crystals; ESI 378, 380.
