To a solution of 2-chloro-5-fluoropyridin-4-amine (1.0 g, 6.82 mmol) in DCM (50 mL) at 0 C was addded TEA (1.046 mL, 7.51 mmol), DMAP (0.083 g, 0.682 mmol) and Boc2O (1.584 mL, 6.82 mmol). The crude product was purified by silica gel chromatography (eluted with 10% ethyl acetate in petroleum ether) to yield tert-butyl (2-chloro-5-fluoropyridin-4- yl)carbamate 79A (1.0 g, 59.4%).
