General procedure: 10%Pt/C (0.40 g, 0.2 mmol) was added to a suspension of the nitro derivative (2a-2d)(1.7 mmol) in methanol (50.0 mL). The mixture was thenfiltered through celite and the filtrate was evaporated under reduced pressureto afford the desired amines (3a-3d).
