To a stirred solution of ethyl 2,4-dichloropyrrolo[2, 1 -J] [1 ,2,4]triazine-5-carboxylate (2 g, 7.69 mmol) N-(4-aminopyridin-2-yl)acetamide (1.744 g, 11.54 mmol)in 2-propanol (20 mL) DIPEA (4.03 mL, 23.07 mmol) was added. The reaction mixture was stirred at 50 C for 3 h. The reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature and filtered. The residue was taken in 5% methanol in DCM washed with aqueous sodium bicarbonate.The organic phase was concentrated to get ethyl 4-((2-acetamidopyridin-4-yl)amino)-2-chloropyrrolo[2, 1 -J] [1 ,2,4]triazine-5-carboxylate (1.4 g, 3.74 mmol, 48.6 %yield) as a white solid.
